Privacy Policy for One Another

Introduction

One Another (“the App”) is a prayer and communication app for church congregations and prayer groups. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The App is operated by Aiden Dixon(“we,” “us”), the developer. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact:

If operation of the App transfers to a church or other organization in the future, this policy will be updated and users will be notified.

Minimum Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use One Another. The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Users between 13 and 17 may use the App. To protect younger users, the App restricts private one-to-one messaging between adults (18+) and users 16 and under. Users 16 and under are also not listed in the church member directory.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: your name, email address, date of birth, and gender. Your date of birth is used to enforce the minimum age and the youth protections described above. Your gender and age are used to pair you with appropriate prayer partners. Your gender and date of birth are never displayed to other members.
  • Profile information: an optional profile photo, and display preferences.
  • Church and group affiliation: the church or churches you join, and any groups you belong to — including independent prayer groups that are not attached to a church. Because this App is designed for prayer, your use of it indicates a religious affiliation. This is sensitive information and we treat it accordingly.
  • Prayer requests: the content of prayer requests you submit, including any personal details you choose to share. Prayer requests may contain sensitive information — for example, about health, mental health, family circumstances, relationships, or personal struggles. You choose what to share, and you may submit requests anonymously.
  • Messages and encouragements: the content of direct messages, group messages, and encouragements you send.
  • Group posts and comments:posts, comments, and likes you add in groups, and — if you create a group — the group's name, description, and photo.
  • Prayer journal: private journal entries you write in the App. Journal entries are visible only to you and are never shown to other members.
  • Accountability checklists: if your group uses an accountability checklist, the tasks you check off are visible to the members of that group.
  • Church page submissions:prayer items, needs, and missionary encouragements you submit for your church's page. These are reviewed by church leadership before they are published.
  • Reports: if you report content or another user, we collect the report and a copy of the reported content.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage information: when you last opened the App, when you prayed for a request, prayer streaks, and similar activity used to make the App work and to show your church aggregate participation statistics.
  • Device tokens: an identifier from Apple or Google that allows us to send you push notifications, if you enable them.
  • Purchase information:if you buy the Group Leader subscription, we receive your subscription status and renewal state (see “Subscriptions and Payments” below). We never receive your card number or payment credentials.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not use third-party analytics, and we do not sell your information.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and maintain your account;
  • Show you prayer requests to pray for, and show your requests to the audience you choose (your church, your groups, or the people assigned to pray for you);
  • Pair you with appropriate prayer partners, using age and gender;
  • Deliver messages, encouragements, and notifications;
  • Enable prayer events, groups, group posts, and the member directory;
  • Process your Group Leader subscription and unlock its features;
  • Show church leadership aggregate, church-wide statistics (for example, how many prayers were prayed this month). These statistics never identify or rank individual members;
  • Enforce safety features, screen content, review reports, and respond to misuse;
  • Fix problems and improve the App.

Who Can See Your Information

Other members of your church can see: your name and profile photo (unless you are 16 or under, in which case you do not appear in the directory), prayer requests you submit non-anonymously, and messages you send them.

Members of your groupscan see: your name and profile photo, the prayer requests you share with that group, your posts, comments, and likes in that group, and your check-offs on the group's accountability checklist if it has one.

Anonymous prayer requests do not display your name to other members. Your identity is still stored in our database so the App can function, but it is not shown to other users.

Church leadership (moderators and pastoral team) can see:

  • All members of the church, including their names and roles;
  • Members of all groups within the church, including private groups;
  • Aggregate church statistics (never individual rankings);
  • Content that has been reported to them. If you or someone else reports a message, conversation, prayer request, encouragement, group post, or user, church leadership can review the reported content — including, in the case of a reported conversation, the full message history of that conversation. This is how we keep the community safe. Church leadership cannot browse private conversations that have not been reported.

Group leaders can manage the groups they lead, including removing posts, comments, and messages within their group.

If you are not part of a church (for example, you only use independent groups), reports you file — and reports about your content — are reviewed by us, the developer, instead of church leadership.

We (the developer)can access data stored in the App's database in order to operate, debug, moderate, and maintain the App.

We do not share your information with any other third parties except the service providers listed below, or where required by law.

Content Moderation and Safety

  • Text you submit (prayer requests, messages, posts, comments, and similar content) is automatically screened against a list of prohibited language before it is published. Content that fails this screen is rejected and never shown to other users. This screening is a simple word filter — it is not used to profile you.
  • You can report content or users from within the App. Reports go to your church leadership, or to us if you are not part of a church, and are reviewed by a person.
  • You can block another member at any time, which prevents messages between you and removes you from each other's prayer matching.

Subscriptions and Payments

  • The Group Leader subscription is an auto-renewing monthly purchase made through Apple. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details. You can manage or cancel it anytime in your App Store subscription settings.
  • We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives your app user ID, device identifier, and purchase history so the App knows whether your subscription is active.
  • Churches and organizations subscribe on our website, not in the App. Those payments are processed by Stripeand are covered by Stripe's privacy practices; the App itself never handles organization payments.

Service Providers

We use the following providers to operate the App. Your data is stored on their infrastructure:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is hosted in the United States (US East).
  • Google Firebase (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — push notification delivery. Firebase receives your device token and the content of notifications sent to you.
  • Apple — App distribution (App Store / TestFlight), push notification delivery, and in-app subscription payment processing.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management for the Group Leader subscription.
  • Stripe — payment processing for organization (church) subscriptions purchased on our website.

These providers process data on our behalf. All data is stored in the United States.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we send push notifications about prayer, messages, and church activity. You can turn off individual notification categories in the App's settings, and you can disable notifications entirely in your device settings.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information while your account is active.

  • Prayer requests may expire automatically after a set period, and you may close or delete your own requests.
  • Prayer event requests are temporary by default and are not saved unless you choose to save them.
  • Messages and encouragements are retained so that you and the recipient can continue to see them.
  • Reports are retained so they can be reviewed and so we have a record of safety issues.

You can delete your account from within the App (Profile → Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently deletes your account and profile and disconnects you from your churches and groups. Some information may remain where it is necessary — for example, messages you sent may still be visible to their recipients, and reports about your content may be retained for safety purposes.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and database access controls that limit what each user can see. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Please be thoughtful about what you share. Prayer requests, posts, and messages are visible to the people in the audience you share them with.

Your Choices

  • You can edit or delete your profile information in the App.
  • You can submit prayer requests anonymously.
  • You can choose the audience for each prayer request — your whole church, or specific groups.
  • You can block another member, which prevents messages between you and removes you from each other's prayer matching.
  • You can report content or users.
  • You can turn notifications on or off by category.
  • You can delete your account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the App or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
