Terms of Service for One Another

Introduction

One Another (“the App,” “the Service”) is a prayer and communication app for church congregations and prayer groups, together with its companion website at prayoneanother.com (“the Website”). The Service is operated by Aiden Dixon(“we,” “us”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who May Use the Service

  • You must be at least 13 years old. Accounts belonging to anyone under 13 will be deleted.
  • If you are between 13 and 17, you may use the App subject to its youth protections (for example, restrictions on private messaging between adults and users 16 and under).
  • You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • If you join the Service on behalf of a church or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to act for that organization.

Your Content

You retain ownership of everything you submit — prayer requests, messages, encouragements, posts, comments, journal entries, photos, and other content (“Your Content”).

By submitting content, you give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and transmit it solely to operate the Service — that is, to show it to the audience you choose (your church, your groups, or the people assigned to pray for you) and to deliver related notifications. We do not sell Your Content or use it for advertising.

You are responsible for what you share. Prayer requests and messages may contain sensitive personal information — share only what you are comfortable with the chosen audience seeing.

Community Rules — Objectionable Content Is Not Tolerated

One Another exists so people can pray for one another. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You may not post or send content that:

  • Harasses, bullies, threatens, or degrades any person;
  • Is hateful or discriminatory toward any person or group;
  • Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or exploitative;
  • Depicts or promotes violence or self-harm;
  • Is knowingly false, defamatory, or impersonates another person;
  • Is spam, commercial solicitation, or an attempt to collect other users' personal information;
  • Is illegal or promotes illegal activity;
  • Infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.

Enforcement. We and church leadership may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules — without prior notice where necessary. Specifically:

  • Text submissions are automatically screened against a prohibited-language filter before publishing;
  • Every user can report content or users from within the App; reports are reviewed by church leadership, or by us for users who are not part of a church, and acted on promptly — ordinarily within 24 hours for reported objectionable content, including removing the content and, where warranted, ejecting the user who provided it;
  • Every user can blockanother user, which stops messages between them and removes them from each other's prayer matching.

Church leadership and group leaders may additionally remove content and members from their own church or groups at their discretion.

Not a Crisis, Medical, or Professional Service

One Another is a tool for prayer and community. It is not a crisis line, a counseling service, or a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. Content in the App — including scripture, prayers, and messages from other members — is not professional advice.

If you or someone else is in danger or crisis, contact local emergency services (911 in the US) or the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

Subscriptions and Payment

Group Leader subscription (purchased in the App, via Apple)

  • The Group Leader subscription unlocks creating and running independent prayer groups (groups not attached to a church). Church-attached features never require this subscription.
  • It is an auto-renewing monthly subscription purchased through your Apple ID. The price is shown in the App before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • It renews automatically at the same price each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it anytime in your App Store subscription settings; deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.
  • If the subscription ends or a renewal payment fails, independent groups you lead are paused, not deleted — members keep their data, and reactivating the subscription restores the groups.
  • Refunds for App purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we cannot issue refunds for purchases made through Apple.

Church and organization subscriptions (purchased on the Website, via Stripe)

  • Churches and other organizations subscribe to One Another on the Website only — organization plans are not sold inside the App.
  • Website subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, the organization authorizes us and Stripe to charge its chosen payment method on a recurring basis at the price and interval shown at checkout, until cancelled. Card details are provided directly to Stripe and are handled under Stripe's privacy policy; we never receive or store full card numbers.
  • The person completing checkout represents that they are authorized to bind the organization to these Terms and to the subscription's charges.
  • Cancellation: an organization may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; amounts already charged are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly agreed.
  • Failed payments:if a renewal charge fails, we may retry it and notify the organization. If payment is not resolved, the organization's subscription features (such as church activation for its members) may be suspended until payment resumes. Member accounts and data are not deleted because of an organization's lapsed payment.
  • Price changes:we may change organization pricing with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from the next billing period after notice.
  • Prices are stated in US dollars and are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which the organization is responsible for.

Churches, Groups, and Leadership

  • Churches and groups on One Another are independent communities, not our agents. Church leadership and group leaders decide who joins their community, what is appropriate within it, and how to respond to reports within it. We are not responsible for the actions, teachings, or pastoral care of any church, group, or leader.
  • Church leadership can see the information described in our Privacy Policy, including content reported to them.
  • Join codes are for people invited to the community they belong to; do not share them publicly.

Intellectual Property

The App, the Website, and their design, code, and branding are owned by us and our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's usage rules.

Scripture quotations in the App are taken from The Holy Bible, New International Version® (NIV®), Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.™ Used by permission. All rights reserved worldwide. Scripture is displayed for personal, non-commercial devotional use.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or are required to be removed by law. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses already exercised, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) survive.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content submitted by users or churches is accurate or appropriate.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, arising from or related to the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Apple-Specific Terms

If you use the App on an Apple device:

  • These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for it.
  • In the event the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the App's purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, regulatory, or IP claims.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on any US government prohibited-parties list.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the App or by email, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
